Chromebook Insurance by Securranty

Dear Westampton Parents,

 Westampton Township Public School District has negotiated a group policy discount with Securranty for students/parents to purchase insurance for school issued chromebooks issued to students. This covers the device for one school year.

 The new cost of chromebook insurance is $26.95. This is an upgrade from our more limited GiantCare program. 

 If you purchased the GiantCare plan for $35 for your children in previous years, you can remain in the Giant Care Plan until your child reaches grade 5 or graduates grade 8, whichever comes first.

For all students entering grade 1 or grade 5, or for any new students joining WTPS this year, the Securranty Plan is the only option for insurance coverage on your new chromebook. Families enrolled in the GiantCare Plan can opt to purchase this plan as well, as the yearly Securranty plan may be a better option for you and your child. 

 Here are the benefits to the Securranty Plan.

 Securranty Plan. A one-time payment of $26.95 per year provides full protection for any failure, crack or damage of the screen, keyboard, hinges, power cord, or the complete device.

 The purchase of this new insurance is a one-time charge that can save $75-$250 or more each time a failure, damage, or loss occurs. For your reference, without the plan, here is the cost per incident:

·         new screen - $120.00

·         new keyboard - $40.00

·         new hinges - $25.00

·         new power cord - $30.00

·         new complete device - $250.00

GiantCare Plan. A one-time payment of $35 over four years only provides protection of a screen or keyboard once over a four year period. If the chromebook is damaged, the first time charge is $100, and the second time is $150.
