Mr. Burke's Algebra Honors class recently got to do a project that let them explore the field as a biostatistician! They analyzed data from a fake town that had been experiencing a rise in asthma cases. They correlated the data together to find out why the rise in cases was occurring, and then put a full report together explaining their findings and ways to fix the problem. They got to see what it means to use math in a real world setting, and get a good glimpse at a career they could have one day in the future!
