Math doesn’t have to be boring-it can be as sweet as a bag of M&M’s! Some students in the 6th-grade math class discovered how to turn candy into a fun, hands-on way to learn about ratios, fractions, decimals, and percentages. The activity started with each student receiving a small bag of M&M’s. The students had to sort their candies by color and calculate different ratios based on the color. These ratios set the foundation for converting fractions to decimals to percents. It was a colorful and engaging way to bring math concepts to life!
