While the middle school students are in Health class, the seventh grade class discussed how tobacco print advertisements are deceiving consumers through their images and slogans. Advertisements for cigarettes, cigars, chew, vapes, and e-cigarettes are viewed and analyzed after the short term and long term harmful effects of tobacco are reviewed. Each student was able to choose their own advertisement and make changes to illustrate the “true” effects of tobacco.
